White privilege is to be able to quote Martin Luther King Jr. (only certain parts, of course) in order to silence people of color. To use his legacy as an excuse to treat people like crap, because dammit, we’re all “equal” (but some are more equal than others, right) now and blah people should stop complaining! And yet there’s silence when its time to recall the struggle and hatred he worked so hard against.
Newsflash: Non violent resistance is still resistance, and he didn’t work so that you can maintain your privilege at any cost, mm’kay?
