Anonymous asked: TW: Hey, I wanted to thank you and others for being so awesome and vigilant on this Gary Oldman issue. My abuser was a local musician and most people who knew him would say I was lying and faking my injuries because 'good guys dont do that' and 'hes in a band, making music from the heart he would never' or they'd just excuse him because 'hes stressed out'. and 'hes just an emotional dude'. This is derailing from the racism, sorry. But I needed to thank you. Thank you so much.

Aw. Thank you so much for sharing that story. I think that when people look for excuses for famous/popular people who commit violent crimes, they tend to forget that there are actual victims to their crimes.

Every time you give Gary Oldman, Michael Fassbender, or whoever a free pass for domestic abuse, you are convincing every woman within earshot that if they are abused, they shouldn’t come forward because no one will believe them.
