White privilege is being welcome at any and every event on campus for different cultural groups and not having someone think you are lost because you are darker than beige and decided to support a friend and check out something new. Because obviously you don’t go here and must be visiting.
mystic-rose asked: Please Please Please help me! I live at home and my white male stepdad constantly says incredibly racist things and defends himself with everything on the bingo board when I get indignant. I want to keep the peace so I can't just yell at him. How do I calmly & rationally explain to him that there is no reverse racism (which he claims to be the victim of via diversity requirements), why there is no white history month, and why even if white people are outnumbered they are still in charge. Help!
If I knew that, I’d be Wayne Brady
White privilege is not having to worry that if you speak to the white guy you’re dating about systems of oppression/power he might stop liking you. White privilege is being able to talk about how race functions in those systems and be seen as credible and knowledgeable whereas we, who got a degree in that shit cause we live it everyday, are seen as angry and resentful.
White privilege is not having to rely on foreign-made media to find diverse representations of people who share your ethnicity. It is also not moving away to the home country of said media to work as a entertainer since your own country of birth would never fully accept you or your talents if you aren’t a palatable caricature for the mainstream media.
creatingpulsars asked: Just a question, nothing bad meant by, honestly. It's just curiosity about the terminology being used. If the blog is about white privilege, then why would you not allow other poc to submit examples? If it is ONLY about people of African decent, then shouldn't the blog be called "this is black discrimination..."? because white privilege affects way more than just black people.
WOW. OKAY HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY LOOK AT THE PEOPLE WHO SUBMIT FOR YOU GUISE TO REALIZE THAT WE ACCEPT PRIVILEGE SUBMISSIONS FROM ALL POC.
OH WAIT NEVERMIND. YOU JUST LIKE TO ASSUME THAT BLACK PPL ARE SELF-CENTERED (WHEN WE CLEARLY DON’T DESERVE TO ONLY FOCUS ON OURSELVES) AND WHY WOULD WE EVER EXTEND OUR HAND TO OTHER PEOPLE.
Just a question, nothing bad meant by it honestly, but where on this blog does it say only black people will be accepted?
Take a seat, drink some bleach.

“White privilege is…not being mistaken for homeless or mistaken for needing change for the bus multiple times, while in the middle of helping a customer, with your name badge in clear sight.”
dragonversuspuma asked: Hi! A lot of years ago, when I was 13, I chose a subject in high school who a lot of people didn't like and we were just 10 students in class. I was the only white kid. For the next months I was constantly bullied and beaten by a few of my classmates. I never asked, but I guess the reason was because I was white. It's been nearly ten years and I'm not angry anymore, but I wanted to ask: If the reason was because I was white (the other kids were left in peace) weren't they racist towards me?
POC can’t be racist again’t white people.
- Submissions from white people are not accepted.
- Submissions with links or photos are not accepted (sorry!)
- Submissions that involve shitting on other POC are NOT accepted.
All other regulations still apply as well.
White privilege is being able to wear the Kofeyye and not be worried that someone will call you a terrorist
penusvenis asked: How do you feel about white privilege being described as true only as a ~majority privilege~?
It’s shit. And white people like to think that in POC run countries white people get treated like shit. They like to think that so they can ease their white “guilt”.

White privilege is not having to think about racial dynamics, worry about whether or not you’re playing into a racial stereotype, about satisfying someone’s Asian fetish, or about whether your partner likes you fully for the human you are when you start dating a white guy.
jem-one asked: Now that I sent you the link, did "it" happen? If "it" did happen, are you going to recant some of the vitriol that you and ,by extension of your blog, your readers made about Tim Wise based on the erroneous assumption that the " White privilege is ..." format was unique?
Hm. Let’s see. I do acknowledge that Wise used language like this in the past. Though I still think Tim Wise is still full of shit. And really I’m not even remorseful that we jumped to conclusions. Cause that shit has happened before. I still think his examples in said article were eerily close to one of our submissions.

white privilege is freely expressing frustration and anger without worrying that you might be reinforcing negative stereotypes about your race.
